Key features of JSR anode binders

Styrene butadiene co-polymer latex;
Water based emulsion, no organic solvent processing needed;
Increased adhesion properties result in reduced binder loading;
Low delamination of electrode layer during roll pressing provides improved productivity.

JSR is offering different grades of styrene butadiene co-polymer latex for use as a binder in different energy storage technologies:

Lithium Ion Battery (LIB)
Nickel Metal Hydride Battery (NiMH)
Electric Double Layer Capacitor (EDLC)

The selection of the suitable binder grade is depending on the energy storage technology as well as the materials
and process used in the design of the cell.

JSR’s most advanced grade differentiates itself by the unique design, which consists out of 90nm small, morphology controlled binder particles. This concept results in a strong adhesion and low electrode delamination during roll pressing and makes it as
such the recommended choice for advanced Lithium Ion Batteries.
