JSR Micro NV Announces Management Transition

Leuven, Belgium – Dec. 22, 2016 - JSR Micro NV announced today that its board of directors has appointed Bart Denturck as Chief Executive Officer effective January 1, 2017 replacing Bruno Roland who will retire at the end of this year.

Denturck joined JSR in 1987 and transitioned from application manager to production manager to becoming plant manager in 2002. During his tenure JSR became the largest photoresist supplier in Europe and most recently Denturck helped drive the company’s diversification into life sciences. As a key contributor to the creation of EUV RMQC, the innovative joint venture with imec and of which Denturck will remain CEO, he has developed the vision for JSR’s future semiconductor activity in Europe.

“I am honored to assume this role at JSR Micro NV,” said Denturck.  “I have watched JSR evolve, grow and thrive under Bruno’s steady leadership for many years.  As JSR enters a new phase in its evolution, we will continue to build upon our solid foundation of quality and customer excellence, combined that with strict semiconductor quality requirements and a focus on GMP to keep our competitive edge.”

“Bart’s strategic and operational insights will ensure the further successful growth and development of the company, while maintaining our values based on quality, customer and employee satisfaction,” said Roland.

Dr. Bruno Roland started his career in the semiconductor business with the invention of the Desire Process, a dry developable resist, while working for UCB, a Belgian fine chemicals company. He was CTO of the unit throughout its collaboration with JSR Corporation, the later joint venture of the two partners, and finally the demerger into JSR Micro NV. He was appointed General Manager in 2000 and CEO in 2007.  Under his leadership, JSR grew into the leading materials supplier in the semiconductor sector while also diversifying into new business areas.
